Thanksgiving Turkey Is Delicious!

Hey all,

Feeling pretty tired, so this blog'll be short.  Thanksgiving encourages overeating!  Go Thanksgiving!

Lots of food on the weekend, and not much exercise. 

Highlights:

  • Friday night pizza before Friday night hockey
  • Saturday Thanksgiving turkey with all the fixin's
  • Sunday wood splitting before a Sunday belly splitting of Thanksgiving turkey redux with the inlaws
  • More regular Monday -- leftover turkey!
I missed my Monday weigh-in.  Wish me luck tomorrow.

Meet the Teacher Creature Feature

Today was a blur.  Tonight's post will be a short one, because I'm exhausted.

Tonight was "Meet the Teacher" night.  I always enjoy meeting parents and chatting with families.  It's always interesting to see the family dynamic, and get a different look into the kids' lives. 

But man, it's tiring.

Now, thinking about food: not a bad day for what could have been a train wreck of an evening.  We had a BBQ before the meet and greet part, where we could have essentially had as many burgers as we wanted.  I held myself to one burger, and I did have a couple of snack wraps at Timmy's beforehand.  It could have been worse, though.  Breakfast was a homemade breakfast sandwich with egg and avocado, and lunch was a small grilled cheese sandwich with another avocado, apple, banana and a yogurt. 

Overall I think it went pretty well.  Gotta keep going for the next couple of days.  Need to leave some room for the Thanksgiving feast on Sunday!

Another good day!

Hey all,

Another great day today!  I did reward myself this morning with a nice breakfast burrito -- avocado goes great with eggs.

Lunch was good, but I did have a leftover hot dog from the sales at school.  Also had a muffin after school. 

Otherwise, I was a good boy.  Leftover chicken curry and pizza for dinner, and an hour of squash.

Tomorrow's meet the teacher night, which includes a BBQ.  I guess I'd better be good for the rest of the day so I can partake in a nice hot dog or hamburger.

I have high hopes for this week.

A Good Day!

Today has been a fantastic day.  Well, it's been a great food day, anyways. 

Great choices:
-chicken breast sandwich on homemade bread, apple, banana, yogurt, small cookie
-2 pieces of pizza for dinner (can you believe I stopped at 2?)
-filled up with salad otherwise

Not so great:
-2 glasses of wine

Overall, a great day!  Tomorrow, I've got squash in the evening at 9pm, so we'll have leftover chicken curry for dinner.  Add in a sandwich for lunch, and I can probably squeeze in a breakfast burrito for a treat.

Feelin' great to be stuck at 38

Hello blogosphere!

Good news in a way today -- I managed to maintain my weight even though I made a lot of poor choices this week.  At least I didn't go backwards.

Today I did pretty well.  I made a nice chicken curry for me and my wife, and managed to convince myself only to have a small bit of seconds.  A little bit of "the bad stuff" -- pop tarts for breakfast and a couple of chips at night.  But I stayed away from the cookies in the office for world teacher day today, and had some lean leftovers for lunch.

If I can stay on the right track and continue this goodness for the rest of the week, I'm feeling good about the results next Monday.  Tomorrow I focus on continuing to make healthy, tasty choices.  Fatty foods aren't necessarily tasty, and they won't make me happy.  Tomorrow I focus on the good stuff.

Watch out week, here I come!

Well, this week hasn't been stellar.  Not many good choices.  Every day, I found something to add some calories to a day.

Examples:
  • leftover A&W hamburger from a kid that was gone for the week
  • extra hot dog from hot dog day
  • homemade cookies
  • small plate of nachos
  • it's too depressing, I can't list any more!
Luckily, last week, I managed to maintain my weight, but I'm worried this week. 

My goal this week is to blog every night at 9pm.  I think it'll help me to make a plan for the next day.  It worked really well for me in week 1. 

I just hope I didn't undo everything this week.  If so, I guess I just have to start again, with a few less weeks in which to hit my goal.
